Do you want to take a bus from Mexico to Chile and need guidance on what to expect at the border between Honduras and Nicaragua? … Do you need a good hotel in Botswana to see the Elephants? … An easy recipe for the best pasta with coffee? … Do you want to learn about Sleep Sciences? How about needing a good Italian necktie? After years of traveling around the world, I decided to create this page to capture some of my adventures.

Travel

Travelling is life and travelling around the world is like living the entire world. You can read about Cairo and Egypt but nothing compares to the thrill of “living” Cairo, trying to cross one of it wide streets, interacting with its people and absorbing the million-aromas that the city can offer. From ancient cities to very modern towns, the best way to learn about a place is by visiting. I cannot say that I have a favorite country or favorite continent, I have enjoyed pretty much every single place that I have visited. I will try to create posts with the countries visited as well as some important information about borders that could be challenging or how to prepare for a trip.


Science

I love science but I usually do not post too much scientific information here because there are much better places for that purpose. From interesting articles about sleep to some links about “cool stuff”, I will try to keep a balance with the other topics of this binnacle.

Food

Another great passion and pleasure. I will try to include nice restaurants that are worth a visit as well as simple recipes that could be hard to find or may need a modification. Eating out and trying new dishes is also one of the main reasons to travel to new places.

Keldik – Sleep, Circadian & Performance

Keldik is the other business venture, it is all about sleep and circadian science. One of the toughest challenges that we encounter on a daily basis is sleeping properly and getting the right performance. It’s very difficult to get that on your own. We created Keldik with the idea of helping people improve their health and ensure that they have the highest energy levels and the utmost performance. We will dedicate more pages and entries to all the company information but we have two main areas: #1: supplements for sleep and circadian balance #2 Products and gadgets to help with sleep and the circadian system.

Melatonin 0.8 mg tablets for sleep and circadian balance

Melatonin can help reduce the time that it takes to fall asleep (sleep onset latency). We think that 0.8 mg of melatonin is the perfect dose of melatonin for most adults. Under normal circumstances, melatonin is present in our body during the night and should be out of our system in the morning. Taking a lower dose reduces the likelihood of having high melatonin levels in the morning when the normal levels of this hormone tend to be zero, or undetectable. The total production of melatonin in adults is usually very low and has been estimated between 10 and 80 micro-grams (1000 micro grams= 1 milligram) 1.

The average person spends 7 hours a day in front of some kind of screen and exposure to light suppresses the secretion of melatonin, a hormone that influences sleep and circadian rhythms? Exposure to light at night is one of the reasons a large number of people don’t get enough good-quality sleep. Light of any kind can affect the secretion of melatonin but blue light at night activates a pigment called melanopsin and can disrupt melatonin and sleep more powerfully.
